Fundraising Policy

The Andover Jr Sports Association is committed to making football and cheerleading accessible and affordable for all families in our community through our annual fundraiser, which is an integral part of our program.

Why Fundraise?

Football and cheerleading are not just sports—they are avenues for personal growth, teamwork, and community spirit. However, these activities come with costs beyond the registration fees we charge. Registration fees cover approximately half of the total costs per participant, with the remainder funded through our collective fundraising efforts. This ensures that every child has the opportunity to participate without financial strain and helps keep these sports affordable for families.

Process and Procedures

Each athlete (except Flag Football players) is required to participate in fundraising by either selling raffle tickets or securing a sponsorship. This not only helps offset costs for families but also supports crucial expenses such as equipment reconditioning, operational costs, improvements in safety gear and new team equipment. It allows us to maintain high standards in equipment and ensure the safety and well-being of every athlete on the field.

Choosing Your Involvement

During registration, parents can choose their preferred fundraising method for their athlete:

1. Sell Raffle Tickets: Each athlete commits to selling a minimum of 10 raffle tickets priced at $20 each. Funds raised will directly offset the athlete’s registration costs.
2. Secure a Sponsorship: Athletes have the option to secure a $500 sponsorship from a local business or individual. This not only fulfills the fundraising requirement but also strengthens community support for our programs and enhances our ability to provide top-quality equipment and facilities.

During registration, parents will acknowledge their responsibility to assist their athlete in completing one of the fundraising activities. They will also acknowledge that an invoice will be issued, and payment for Raffle Tickets must be made online on or before August 1st.

To Secure a Sponsorship

1. Complete the AJSA Sponsorship Form: Fill out the form and submit it along with the sponsor's payment by August 7th.
2. Submit Electronic Sponsor Logo: Provide a hi-res electronic Sponsor logo in a PNG or JPG format to info@andoverjrfootball.com no later than August 9th.
3. Access Sponsorship Form: You can access the AJSA Sponsorship form under the Resources Tab.

Why Flag Football Players Are Exempt

Flag Football players are exempt from fundraising requirements due to the specific operational and financial considerations tailored to their program. Unlike Tackle Football and Cheer, Flag Football incurs minimal costs for equipment, operational logistics, and safety gear. This exemption recognizes that Flag Football serves as an introductory program designed to introduce young athletes to the sport in a cost-effective manner, aligning with its developmental focus within our organization. By exempting Flag Football players from fundraising, we aim to ensure equitable participation opportunities while maintaining our commitment to affordability across all levels of our sports programs.

Participating in fundraising isn't just about meeting financial obligations. It's an opportunity for athletes and families to be actively involved in their community and support a program that values safety, sportsmanship, and skill development. Top fundraisers are even eligible for prizes, making fundraising a fun and rewarding experience for everyone.

Supporting Our Community

Beyond covering costs, the funds raised through our efforts also enable us to give back to the community. We offer scholarships to athletes who need financial assistance, ensuring that no child is left behind due to financial constraints.

Your involvement directly funds scholarships and equipment upgrades, ensuring that every child in the Andover community can benefit from sports in a safe and supportive environment.
